These are the third pair of pants I've made for Luc this season, and this time, I tackled pockets, a fake fly, reinforced seams, and a flat front all at once. They're not perfect, but I've made some major improvements throughout the process. The second pair, which I don't have a picture of, are reversible PJ pants.
Finally got up some curtains on the windows in the 2 back bedrooms which have a view on our kitchen. I made simple canvas panels which maybe later I'll add some designs to using this book Alex got me for my birthday.
A winter duvet cover for our bed. I am so happy to be done with this project. I started it almost a month ago, and was ready to quit after cutting the first piece. The challenge was worth it though, and we're pleased with the results.

ten things
Maybe you've been wondering where we've been since I haven't posted anything in almost a month. Blogging got pushed to the side for a while as we hosted first Alex's dad; then his longtime childhood friend, Thomas; completed a LOT of home improvement projects (and subsequently began several more!); are currently chasing large, squeaky mice from our home; and took a trip to the inside of the island (my first-crazy I know, since I've been here 3 years now!).
I thought the best way to share our latest adventures with you would be with a "ten things" post, that focuses on 10 recent things that are bringing us joy in some way. Enjoy!

1. as usual, the beach, our beach.
2. surveying surfers
3. a new/old desk (it belonged to Alex when he was a kid!)
4. a Gasy fety with our friend Lalasoa
5. making new friends
6. mother's day snuggles
7. home improvement projects...
8. ...with Luc's help
9. a newfound facination with excavators (and other big machines)
10. rainbows!

Hiking to Pic Adam
Judith and I went hiking one morning for a few hours, and even though I came back with some nasty blisters from my too small boots, it was so worth it to get out there! It reminded me that I should try to do it more often, but I'll look for another pair of shoes for next time. The trail was fairly easy, a bit slippery, and lasted just the right amount of time (3.5 hrs) before we wanted to head back for lunch.

Yeah. Those spiders were big.
And I had no choice but to run under their webs hoping they wouldn't jump onto the back of my neck.

Another beautiful day....
an easter egg balloon garland...
last year's bunnies hopped out of storage...
I'm off to hide the eggs...
Walt found his bunny beer....
relaxing coloring time just before dinner...
Roasted garlic and rosemary leg of lamb, rosemary mashed potatoes, freshly steamed green beans, tomato salad, hot cross buns, brownies, wine, and good friends make this day complete!

the egg-dying process
I received a package recently that included an egg dying kit, and man, did that bring back memories! Last year I had tried to dye our eggs using food as the dye, but I only succeeded with the yellow ones. Plus, our eggs are brown, so the ingredient used has to be pretty potent. Luc and I had a blast today, so much so that he was asking for "more!"
Those leftover nutella jars came in handy....
Watch me eat this one Mom!
