Rally to Restore Sanity
Ok, I know this happened almost 2 weeks ago in DC, but I forgot about this link until I was cleaning up my favorites list on the computer today. I just had to share some of the signs at the Rally that really made me laugh. And maybe you'll get a kick out of it too. Alex and I wished we could've attended, so if any of you were there and want to share your story on it, feel free to do so below! i'm going to agree with that last sign - "we should do this more often."
we weren't able to go, but i'm so glad it happened. and the signs are hilarious!
my favorite is the Dude sign!! I love the big lebowski!

i was standing right behind the guy with the mad hatter wnats his tea party back sign!! i hate that i can't comment on your blog, it might be because i'm at work. either way, the rally WOULD have been soooooooo cool had we been able to hear or see ANYTHING! there were so many people there. i think what happened was colbert and stewart were supposed to have 2 separate rallys on different ends of the mall but one of their permits was denied(it was a crazy weekend, marine corps marathon too). so they combined them and there were like 200,000 people trying to see this one little stage. they had jumbo trons and speakers, but only near the stage, so we couldn't see or hear much until we worked our way closer. we heard their closing speech pretty clearly, there were ambulances going behind us so the sirens kind of cut out some of it. also, cell phones wouldn't work! So we had people we were trying to meet up with and no one could use their phone, i think there were just too many people in one area. i had 3 signs, i only held one of them up because i didn't want to hold them up in front of people and there were people everywhere. so as the rally was disappating we found a spot where some people were just standing and held up one of my signs. it had a picture of hitler, and said "hitler" under it and then a picutre of obama and said "not hitler" under that. then it said "please, restore sanity". Then I had one that said "the religious right is neither". and my third had a picture of GW bush and Reagan and said "where was the outrage when the big spender was a white guy?" i was pretty proud of them so i saved them in case there's another rally anytime soon. I love that sign on your blog about hating taxes but loving blah blah blah. i think my favorite sign (i might have a picture of it but i'm not sure) said "i'm ok with the amount of taxes i pay and i might even be willing to pay a little bit more if it were going to cut the deficit and boost the economy!" bobby said he'd only carry a sign if i made one that said "get a brain, morans" but i ran out of posterboard :-p
